Structured Peer Group Supervision

A community of reflective practitioners who support each other's growth, and challenge each other's thinking, transforming client relationships.

Second Monday of the Month, 9:30 AM ET

Purpose

We provide a confidential, collaborative space for structured peer group supervision focused on professional development and mutual support. Our goal is to enhance therapeutic practice through shared reflection, diverse perspectives, and collective wisdom, honouring the work that we do with our clients.

  • Focus on client care, case understanding, and therapeutic effectiveness

    • Clinical Insight & Perspective – To gain new understandings of cases by hearing how other therapists conceptualize dynamics, interventions, or diagnoses.

    • Skill Development – To refine therapeutic skills and techniques through feedback, modeling, and case-based discussion.

    • Interdisciplinary Learning – To integrate knowledge from different therapeutic modalities or specializations represented in the group.

    • Improving Case Outcomes – To strengthen treatment planning and effectiveness by applying collective clinical wisdom.

  • Focus on standards of care, accountability, and responsible practice

    • Ethical Decision-Making – To explore ethical dilemmas collaboratively and ensure that client care aligns with professional standards.

    • Countertransference Awareness – To identify and process personal reactions that may influence the therapist–client relationship.

    • Accountability & Professional Growth – To maintain a sense of responsibility for continual learning and reflective practice.

  • Focus on the therapist’s inner experience, development, and sustainability

    • Reducing Isolation – To combat the isolation that many therapists experience in private practice by providing a supportive professional network.

    • Support & Self-Care – To foster emotional support, validation, and mindfulness around therapist well-being and burnout prevention.

    • Community & Mentorship – To create a space for mentorship, connection, and professional identity development.

Practicalities

Monthly Structured Peer Group Supervision Group, hosted by Wintergreen Counselling Services, brings together therapists of varying experience, virtually, for 90 minutes of collaborative consultation and community. It's affordable, supportive and a wonderful way to acquire group supervision hours.

This group meets the CRPO Clinical Supervision Guide‘s definition of “structured peer group supervision”.

Participating therapists sign an agreement which outlines how the group operates, including confidentiality protocols.
